Wife denies knowing whereabouts of ex-husband victor osakue osas wanted by police over murder case

A Benin based woman, Mrs. Rose Edobor of No. 14, Jude otasowe Street, Off Medical Stores Road, Benin City, Edo State on Tuesday 5th May, 2026 denied before the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State CID, Edo State Police Command knowing the whereabouts of Victor Osakue Osas.
It was discovered that Victor Osakue Osas is currently wanted by the Edo Police Command based on a petition written on the 26th April, 2026 by Mr. Felix Iyekekpolo and Osazee Odigie on behalf of their families of the two dead PDP youth executive members – Clement Iyekekpolo and Andrew Odigie in Egor Local Government Area of the state on the 20th October, 2020.
Speaking to journalists, the Police Public Relations Officers (PPRO) ASP Ebo Ikoefem stated that upon receipt of the petition, the State Police Command swing into action by writing an invitation letter of interrogation to Mrs. Rose Edobor being accused by the family to appear before the Police Investigators department to ascertain if really she knowns the whereabouts of the wanted Victor Osakue Osas.
According to ASP Ikoefem, “Mrs. Rose Edobor was duly interrogated for several hours by a team of investigators regarding the aforementioned allegations. The interrogation focused on determining whether she had withheld any material information relevant to the ongoing investigation and manhunt for the suspect – Victor Osakue Osas and if also she know Pastor Matthew Ose Ehigiamusoe.
“Upon conclusion of the interrogation, preliminary review of available evidence and the execution of a search warrant at her house, the Command found the allegations leveled against Mrs. Rose Edobor to be baseless and unfounded. There was no evidence to substantiate claims that she concealed information related to the whereabouts of the suspect who she disclosed to us that they has since divorced as husband and wife. She confirmed that she know Pastor Matthew Ose Ehigiamusoe because she and her family fellowship in his church at Adolor College Road, Benin City.
“Following the interrogation and findings, Mrs. Rose Edobor was released unconditionally and allowed to return home.”
Going further, the Police Image market added that the Department reiterates that Victor Osakue Osas is still wanted for the alleged murder of 2 executive members of the PDP (Clement Iyekekpolo and Andrew Odigie) in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect: Victor Osakue Osas in order for him to answer to the law for the alleged murder. Members of the public have since been advised that anyone with any useful information that may lead to the arrest of the said suspect should report immediately to the nearest Police Station or directly to the Edo State Police Command.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Rose Edobor, has appealed to the Nigerian Police Force to come to her rescue over invasion of her resident by unknown person in Benin City, Edo State capital.
Narrating her ordeal to journalists at the Edo NUJ Secretariat in Benin City, Mrs. Rose Edebor, stated that on the 14th of April, 2026 at the hour of 1.45pm in the night, a group of unknown person stormed her residence trying to gain access to the compound through locked gate and shouting “Open the day, or we force ourselves into the house”, “You must present the whereabouts of your husband Victor Osakue, he cannot killed our brothers and go free”, etc.
She stated further that when she became apprehensive, she made effort to call the police and started police men are on their way before the hoodlums ran away and was about to find her way out of the compound through the back fence with her child.
She then called on the Executive Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the State Commissioner of Police and other law enforcement agency to come to my rescue as I am afraid to go back to the house.
She was thereafter advised by journalists to go and formally lodge a complaint to the nearer police station to her resident.
