Former Minister of Transportation and ex-Governor of Rivers State, Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi, has strongly condemned the recent killings in Plateau State, stressing that with peace, unity, and a shared purpose, Nigeria can achieve its national goals.

Amaechi made the remarks while responding to questions from journalists about the state of the nation.

“We are a nation with a rich diversity of ethnicities and religions, but to reach our full potential and achieve our shared dreams, we must set aside these differences and unite as one nation,” he said.

The former governor expressed particular concern over the recent surge in senseless killings across the country, pointing out that the primary duty of the government is to protect the lives and property of its citizens.

“The government has a fundamental responsibility to safeguard its people. We cannot allow these deaths and acts of violence to continue unchecked,” he added.

Amaechi concluded by asserting that through peace and unity, Nigeria could overcome its challenges and emerge as a strong, prosperous nation.
