The Ogun State Government has sealed four companies for breaching environmental regulations, citing unauthorised discharges, obstruction of official duties, and unlawful construction activities.

The affected firms include Fortune Height Farms Limited and Sanda Wood Industry Limited, both situated in Odogbolu Local Government Area; Shengceramic Material Limited, located near the Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway; and Nehemiah Grace Developer Limited, operating along Ijako in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.

Speaking on the enforcement, Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), Hon. Farouk Akintunde, confirmed that Fortune Height Farms Limited, which specialises in the production of eggs and catfish, was sealed following a petition from members of its host community. The petition accused the company of discharging untreated waste into the surrounding environment.

Akintunde, who also chairs the Ogun State Task Force on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement, noted that Sanda Wood Industry Limited faced sanctions for obstructing government officials during an inspection and for engaging in open burning of industrial waste.

He added that Nehemiah Grace Developer Limited was shut down for encroaching on public waterways and undertaking drainage construction without securing the necessary permits from regulatory authorities.

“These actions are in clear violation of the state’s environmental laws,” Akintunde stated. “The Ogun State Government cannot stand by while companies pollute our communities, flout regulations, and endanger lives. We are committed to ensuring compliance and protecting public health.”

The state government has vowed to continue monitoring industrial practices across all local government areas, stressing that businesses must align their operations with environmental standards or risk similar consequences
