The Sen. Adolphus Wabara led Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has affirmed the expulsion of FCT Minister, Nyesome Wike and Samuel Anyanwu.
This is as the internal crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deepened following a face-off between the Wike led faction and the Bauchi State Governor led faction on Tuesday at the PDP Wadata Secretariat.
The party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) issued on Wednesday condemned what it described as the “invasion” of the National Secretariat complex by “expelled elements” and armed thugs.
In a press release signed by the BoT Chairman, H.E Sen. Adolphus Wabara, the board alleged that the invasion occurred on Tuesday, November 18, and was carried out by individuals who mobilized compromised security personnel and armed thugs to unleash violence on party members.
The stated intent of the action was to forcefully take over the complex and prevent the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) from gaining access.
The statement specifically noted that tear gas was fired at party leaders, including the newly elected National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Mohammed, and Oyo State Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde.
The BoT also expressed dismay over the alleged involvement of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, who the statement notes was also recently expelled from the party. According to the BoT, Mr. Wike arrived at the scene with heavy security in apparent solidarity with the invaders.
Reaffirming its stance, the BoT declared its full endorsement of the outcome of the Elective National Convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025. The Board asserted that the convention was convened in strict compliance with all party and national laws and represents the collective will of the PDP’s stakeholders.
The BoT denounced the “statements, actions and media pronouncements” by those lawfully expelled, stating that their attempts to undermine the convention’s legitimacy constitute a “direct assault on the principle of internal democracy.”
Concluding its resolution, the Board of Trustees called on the Inspector-General of Police to immediately investigate the wave of attacks on the PDP National Secretariat, urging that all those responsible be held accountable.
