…Revalidates membership, calls for nationwide support
The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has urged Nigerians to embrace the party, saying that when it forms government, it will end banditry and other violent crimes.
Aregbesola made the statement in Ilesa, Osun State, shortly after revalidating his ADC membership card on Wednesday. The exercise took place at Ward 8, Ifofin, Ilesa East, with oversight from the party’s Membership Registration and Revalidation Committee.
Speaking during the revalidation, Aregbesola said: “Ogbeni appreciated the work done by the committee and urged every Nigerian to come on board for us to enthrone a good government that will end banditry, insecurity, and incidents like the one that occurred in Kwara, where some unknown gunmen attacked a church, killed some members, and kidnapped others.”
He explained that he chose the ADC for its discipline, integrity, character, courage, and competence, describing it as the party that can lead Nigeria out of its current challenges.
The membership revalidation exercise, led by Senator Sodiq Yaradua, introduced new ADC membership cards with 12 advanced security features to prevent duplication. Yaradua noted that Aregbesola was the first member to be revalidated under the upgraded system, and said an online registration platform would soon be launched.
Earlier, Aregbesola unveiled the ADC’s grassroots mobilisation strategy aimed at securing federal and state victories in the 2027 elections. The approach encourages one committed member to recruit ten new members, and for each of those ten to recruit ten more, ensuring nationwide growth.
Aregbesola also welcomed members of the Labour Party’s Conscience Forum, led by Moshood Salvador, into the ADC, urging full commitment to the party’s mission.
He emphasised that the ADC aims not only to produce Nigeria’s next president but also to secure Alausa in Lagos, with success achievable through collective mobilisation.
