A tragic incident occurred in Iyanomo community, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, when a farmer, identified as Mr. Ighodaro Nosakhare, and two of his laborers were brutally killed by suspected herdsmen on their farmland.
According to Police sources and family accounts, the late Ighodaro had gone to his farm on March 3, 2025, with three hired laborers when the attackers struck in a bushy section of the farmland.
One of the workers, who sustained severe injuries but managed to escape, reportedly ran to the village market to raise the alarm. Community elders immediately informed the police, who visited the scene and confirmed the death of one person on arrival.
The other two victims, including Ighodaro, were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were later confirmed dead from deep machete wounds.

“He went to the farm that morning as usual, not knowing it would be his last day. We are still in shock. My brother never had any issue with anyone,” she said.
