Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has declared that President Bola Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election if the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is on the ballot.

Amaechi made the bold assertion amid growing political realignments, expressing confidence in the capacity of the ADC to unseat the ruling party.

“Whether the election is free and fair or not, if we are on the ballot, Tinubu will lose,” he said.

The former Rivers State governor argued that defeating an incumbent president requires strategic political experience, not just popularity. He pointed to his role in the electoral victories of former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and 2019 as evidence of his capacity.

“I led the campaign for Buhari twice and delivered about 15 million votes,” Amaechi stated.

His comments come as opposition figures explore coalition options ahead of 2027, with the ADC increasingly mentioned as a possible platform for a unified challenge against the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Political observers say the success of such a move will depend largely on coalition cohesion, voter mobilisation, and the ability to convert public dissatisfaction into electoral gains.
