The Federal Executive Council (FEC) will hold a special session on Thursday, July 17, in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away earlier this week.
Originally scheduled for Tuesday, the session was postponed by President Bola Tinubu to enable him, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and several ministers to attend Buhari’s burial in Daura, Katsina State.
Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga announced the new date via his verified X handle, @Onanuga1956, on Thursday evening.
“A special session of the Federal Executive Council in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari will be held on Thursday 17 July from 1pm. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lead the session of tributes for the departed leader,” Onanuga stated.
The commemorative gathering will take place at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja, and is expected to feature eulogies and reflections from top government officials celebrating the life and service of the late former president.
