President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to support members of Nigeria’s Armed Forces and other security agencies involved combating terrorism.
In a message shared on his verified X handle on Monday, the President praised security personnel serving across the country, stating that their dedication helps protect lives and maintain peace despite difficult operating conditions.
Tinubu noted that soldiers and other security operatives continue to work tirelessly in forests, creeks, highways, border communities, and other challenging locations to keep Nigerians safe.
He described them as courageous men and women who stand between law-abiding citizens and those seeking to disrupt peace and stability.
The President emphasized that the battle against insecurity places enormous demands on security personnel, many of whom endure hardship, danger, and personal sacrifice in the line of duty.
He assured them that their efforts have not gone unnoticed, stressing that the nation remains grateful for their service and commitment.
The President also extended his appreciation to personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, various intelligence agencies, and local security outfits contributing to the country’s security architecture.
Tinubu further acknowledged the sacrifices made by the families of security officers, noting that they often bear the burden of prolonged separations and uncertainty while their loved ones serve the nation.
He paid tribute to fallen heroes who lost their lives while defending the country, saying their courage and sacrifice would always be remembered.
The President urged Nigerians to play a more active role in efforts to tackle insecurity by providing useful information to security agencies whenever necessary.
He stressed that defeating terrorism and criminality requires collective action, adding that citizens have a responsibility to support security operatives through vigilance and the timely reporting of suspicious activity.
Tinubu reiterated his administration’s determination to rid the country of insecurity, insisting that terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other violent groups would not be allowed to dictate Nigeria’s future.
He expressed confidence that with the continued efforts of security agencies and the support of citizens, the country would overcome its security challenges and emerge stronger.
The President concluded by thanking security personnel for their unwavering service and prayed for their safety as they continue to protect the nation.
