President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, on her 55th birthday, describing her as a courageous and principled woman who has remained steadfast in her values.
In a statement issued to mark the occasion, the President joined family members and associates of the former First Lady in celebrating what he described as a significant milestone.
“Fifty-five is a significant milestone, and I celebrate with the former First Lady on this occasion,” the President stated.
Tinubu praised Hajiya Buhari’s strength of character and consistency, noting that she has demonstrated conviction in matters concerning her ideals.
“Hajiya Buhari is an Amazon, a courageous and principled woman. She is not afraid to stand alone on matters bordering on her values and ideals. She is as ever certain as the North Star; a woman for all seasons,” he said.
The President also acknowledged her contributions through the Aisha Buhari Foundation, particularly in promoting the welfare of women and children and supporting vulnerable families across the country.
“Through her foundation, the Aisha Buhari Foundation, she has upheld the rights of women and children and provided succour to many families,” he added.
Tinubu further described the former First Lady as “a voice for the unheard and the forgotten,” noting her advocacy for causes that strengthen family values and uphold human dignity.
He commended her resilience and discipline and prayed for continued good health and wellbeing.
“I wish her a happy 55th birthday, and I pray that God Almighty continues to keep her and her family in good health,” the President said.
The goodwill message reflects the ongoing cordial ties between the current administration and the immediate past First Family, while recognising Aisha Buhari’s continued role in social advocacy beyond her tenure in office.
