This is renewed suffering – Deji Adeyanju says as fuel sells at N500

A social media influencer, Deji Adeyanju, has said the new administration of President Bola Tinubu has brought suffering upon Nigerians following the hike in petrol from about N200 to N500.

Adeyanju tagged President Tinubu’s government as ‘renewed suffering’, mocking its campaign’s ‘Renewed Hope’.

Newsmen reports that filling stations are now selling petrol at prices around N500 per litre.

This follows the announcement by Tinubu that the controversial fuel subsidy has been removed.

In his reaction on Wednesday, Adeyanju opined that the goal of any President should be how to return the pump price of fuel to the N68 it used to be under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“The goal should be for fuel to return to N68 per liter like under PDP when there was corruption and dollar at N180. This is renewed suffering,” he said on his social media handles.

Adeyanju also blamed opposition parties for their refusal to unite towards unseating the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last election.

“Waste your vote again in 2027. The opposition should also go into the next election divided. No matter what you guys do, we will be chilling,” he stated, adding “Nigerians don’t deserve this suffering.”
