Ediri Oyibo, the Editor of TheNewsGuru (TNG), is set to officially launch his new book, Journalism NeXt: A Comprehensive Guide to Modern Journalism.

The upcoming event marks a significant contribution to the evolving media landscape in Nigeria and the global press community.

The publication, born from extensive research and years of practical experience, offers in-depth insights into contemporary journalism. It specifically addresses digital transformation, ethical reporting, media sustainability, and the future of news delivery in an increasingly volatile information age.

The book launch and public presentation will gather key stakeholders from the media industry, academia, and policy circles.

The event is designed to stimulate critical dialogue regarding the challenges and opportunities facing modern journalism, particularly within emerging democracies.

According to Oyibo, the book seeks to bridge the gap between traditional journalism principles and the relentless demands of the digital era. It offers practical solutions and forward-looking strategies for professional journalists, media entrepreneurs, and communication students alike.

“This book is a response to the urgent need for innovation, credibility, and adaptability in journalism. It is designed to equip media practitioners with the tools required to navigate the complexities of today’s information ecosystem,” Oyibo stated.

Beyond the book unveiling, the event will feature a presentation of research findings regarding the state of journalism in Nigeria. This segment will focus specifically on the unique challenges faced by journalists operating within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The program also promises networking opportunities for participants to engage with industry leaders and peers.

The formal ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat, FCT Council, Utako, Abuja.
