TCN restores power to Kumbotso 330kV substation

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kano Region, has restored normal power supply to the Kumbotso 330kV Transmission Substation.
The announcement was made in a statement released by Ndidi Mbah, General Manager of Public Affairs on Sunday.
According to the statement, the substation and its affected transmission lines were re-energized at approximately 4:30 p.m. today following the successful completion of planned maintenance work.
TCN noted that this scheduled maintenance was a crucial part of its continuous efforts to reinforce the transmission network and boost the overall reliability of the power supply.
With the grid successfully re-energized, several regional electricity distribution companies have immediately resumed off-taking power to supply their respective consumer bases. These include the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC), and Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC).
The restoration will bring relief to a vast network of customers across multiple states and regional borders. Normal power distribution is now resuming for residents and businesses throughout Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa States, alongside Azare in Bauchi State, Nguru in Yobe State, and Gazaoua in the neighboring Republic of Niger.
The TCN managenent expressed its gratitude to all affected customers for their patience and cooperation throughout the duration of the maintenance window.
