Security Guard caught stealing iron rods from Delta construction site

A man identified as John Simon has been arrested for allegedly stealing iron rods from a building site under construction in Agbor, Delta State.

The suspect, originally from Plateau State, was apprehended over the weekend by the Agbor Gha-Ihun vigilante group. He claimed that the site is located near the home where he works as a night security guard on Iyogo Road in the Ogbesogan area of Ime-Obi, Agbor.

During questioning, Simon confessed that he had not acted alone. He revealed that another security guard, also from Plateau State and coincidentally sharing the same first name, John, was involved in the theft. His alleged accomplice fled the scene and remains at large.

Simon expressed remorse for his actions, insisting that it was his friend who persuaded him to take part in the crime. He pleaded for leniency.

Chief Sunday Ibude, the Chief Security Officer of the Agbor Gha-Ihun Vigilante, said the team remains vigilant in monitoring Agbor and surrounding areas to deter and respond to criminal activity. He stressed that anyone caught engaging in criminal acts will face the full force of the law.
