Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as a carefully crafted plan aimed at lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty and putting the nation on a clear path to economic stability and growth.

Obasa made the statement on Thursday during the 10th Constituency Stakeholders’ Engagement held in Agege, where he commended the administration’s approach to economic reforms and national development.

“The Renewed Hope Agenda is not by chance; it is a deliberate blueprint for national recovery and sustainability. It is designed to lift millions out of poverty by unlocking economic opportunities for all Nigerians, regardless of age, gender, or location,” the Speaker said.

He explained that the federal government had taken decisive steps to counter economic stagnation, strengthen investor confidence, and enhance the country’s credit standing through a series of policy interventions.

“Under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the administration has aggressively addressed the challenges of economic stagnation and instability. Strategic economic reforms, including a thorough re-engineering of fiscal policies and revenue-generation systems, have boosted investor confidence and diversified our economy. These reforms have improved Nigeria’s credit rating and set a strong foundation for lasting prosperity,” Obasa stated.

He emphasised the significance of infrastructure as a key driver of growth, noting that the federal government’s investments are reshaping Nigeria’s economic landscape.

“Recognising that robust infrastructure is the backbone of development, the Tinubu administration has embarked on transformative projects nationwide. These include new road networks, upgraded ports, and state-of-the-art public facilities. They are improving the quality of life and consolidating Nigeria’s standing as a hub for commerce and innovation,” he added.

Obasa also drew attention to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing it as a landmark initiative that has transformed education access for young people.

“The Tinubu administration’s investment in human capital, particularly through the students’ loan programme under NELFUND, has given hope to our youths. Campuses are now more peaceful, academic infrastructure is improving, and there is greater stability in our educational environment. Education is once again being positioned as a powerful tool for empowerment and national progress,” he said.
