Red Line will be extended to airport terminals — Keyamo

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo has revealed that the Lagos State Government Red Line train will be extended to both the domestic and international terminals of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA) in Lagos.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of Invest Lagos 3.0, Keyamo noted that the rail extension will connect the Ikeja train station stop to the General Aviation Terminal (GAT), the Murtala Muhammed Airport Two (MMA2), and the international wing of the airport.
The Miister added that once completed, the project will improve accessibility to Nigeria’s busiest airport and support the government’s vision of transforming Lagos into a major aviation and logistics hub for Africa.
“We are planning to extend the rail line that currently ends at the Ikeja station. We are working with the Lagos State Government to extend that line all the way to the domestic terminal, through Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), and down to the international airport. Work on this extension is about to start, showing that Lagos is fully ready for the next big step in its aviation activities,” Keyamo said.
The Minister also urged local and foreign investors to take advantage of the opportunities within the country’s aviation sector.
He added that the government has committed approximately $500 million toward the reconstruction and modernization of the Old Terminal at the Lagos airport, demonstrating its determination to deepen investment and accelerate growth in the industry.
