Femi Oyetola, the son of former Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has donated food boxes to 5,000 widows and elderly people in Osun State through the Ileri Oluwa Development Initiative.

Speaking during the brief ceremony held at Ileri Oluwa House, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo on Sunday, Oyetola said the 5,000 widows and elderly people would benefit from the first batch of the food distribution across the Osun Central Senatorial District.

He explained that the Ramadan gesture was aimed at rallying support for the governorship ambition of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the August 8, 2026 election.

Femi Oyetola, who was represented by the former Senior Special Assistant to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji, said the Ramadan outreach formed part of his contribution to Oyebamiji’s gubernatorial ambition by putting smiles on the faces of thousands of households across the state.

According to him, the Ramadan gift marks the fifth edition of Femi Oyetola’s outreach to the less privileged through the Ileri Oluwa Development Initiative.

He said, “this is the fifth edition of Femi Oyetola’s outreach to the less privileged across the state, especially in Osun Central Senatorial District. What is different about today’s event is that we are reaching out to 5,000 widows and elderly people with food support as part of our backing for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji’s governorship ambition. The beneficiaries were carefully selected from the ten local governments in Osun Central through our coordinators.

“Beyond this, to further support AMBO, Femi Oyetola, through the Initiative’s ‘Iftar with AMBO’ programme, has been distributing 1,000 packs of food daily to major mosques in each local government in Osun Central Senatorial District to assist residents in breaking their fast and to ease the financial burden during this holy month.”

Speaking at the event, the APC State Woman Leader, Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde, described the initiative as laudable and urged beneficiaries to use the holy month to pray for Oyebamiji’s victory.

The APC State Youth Leader, Mr. Goke Akinwomimo, also commended the initiative and called on other philanthropists in the society to emulate Femi Oyetola’s gesture.

Dignitaries at the occasion included the APC Deputy Youth Leader, Senatorial Youth Leader, Local Government Chairmen, and various women groups.
