Radda, Yusuf attend Katsina turbaning ceremony

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State joined Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State and other dignitaries at the turbaning of three new District Heads at the Emir’s Palace, Katsina.

The ceremony was presided over by the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman. It drew traditional rulers, senior government officials, political leaders, business executives, and guests from within and outside Nigeria.

Also in attendance were the Governor of Zinder State, Damagaram, Republic of Niger; Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, Deputy Gov. of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, and Deputy Gov. of Jigawa State, Engr. Aminu Usman Gumel.

Earlier, the Kauran Katsina and District Head of Rimi, Alhaji Nuhu Aminu Abdulkadir, formally presented the new District Heads to the Emir for the turbaning rites.

Those turbaned are Alhaji Ahmad Abdulmumini Kabir Usman as Danmajen Katsina and District Head of Dankama; Alhaji Muhammadu Dikko Radda as Gwagwaren Katsina II and District Head of Radda; and Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu as Sarkin Mudurun Katsina and District Head of Muduru.

In his remarks, the Emir of Katsina described the turnout as unprecedented in his reign. “In the history of my reign in Katsina, we have not witnessed a gathering of this nature. I could not have imagined that this event would attract such a remarkable crowd and level of participation,” he said.

He commended dignitaries and guests for their orderly conduct and urged them to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Emirate.

The Emir called on the people to uphold Islamic teachings, stressing faith, discipline, and strong moral values in building a peaceful society.

“We must avoid envy and jealousy among ourselves. Instead, we should promote love, understanding, and mutual respect,” he added.

He emphasized the need for unity and cooperation, urging traditional and religious leaders to sustain efforts in promoting peace, stability, and development.

According to him, collective responsibility and support for the less privileged remain essential for societal progress and divine blessings.

Other dignitaries present included the Emir of Daura, Dr. Faruk Umar Faruk; Sultan of Damagaram, Zinder, Niger Republic, El Hadji Aboubacar Oumarou Sanda; businessman Alhaji Dahiru Mangal; Special Adviser on Political Matters, Kabir Ibrahim Masari; two Senators from Katsina South and Funtua zones; National Coordinator of AUDA-NEPAD, Hon. Salisu Jabiru Tsauri; members of the Katsina and Daura Emirate Councils; National Assembly members; members of the State House of Assembly; local government chairmen; and other guests.
