Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has declared the state fully open for investment as he formally launched the maiden edition of the InvestKatsina 1.0 Economic and Investment Summit.

The event, held on Monday at the Continental Event Centre, assembled economic experts, industry leaders, policy specialists and development partners who shared insights on unlocking Katsina’s next phase of growth.

In a statement today signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Governor Radda was quoted as saying that the summit represents “a turning point for Katsina’s economic transformation,” with the administration pursuing investments built on partnership, shared prosperity and people-focused development.

According to the statement, the Governor outlined a bold five-pillar economic vision cutting across Agriculture, Infrastructure, Energy, Technology and Human Capital Development.

It reads partly: “Katsina has vast arable land, strategic location, a youthful population and a strong commercial legacy. These are the assets that will drive our mission to build a leading agricultural hub powered by agro-processing industries. We are not seeking investors who extract and disappear; we seek partners who build and co-create with us.

“We are positioning Katsina as a major transport and logistics centre by improving road networks, enhancing rail connectivity and modernising border infrastructure. These moves will strengthen Nigeria’s economic ties with West Africa.

“Our commitment to renewable energy—solar, wind and biomass—is unwavering. Clean and reliable power is essential for industrial growth, and we are opening new frontiers in ICT, fintech, digital innovation and smart services driven by our tech-savvy youth.

“New geological assessments confirm that Katsina hosts one of Nigeria’s largest commercially viable gold deposits. This is further evidence of the huge untapped economic potential waiting to be developed responsibly.”

The statement added that Governor Radda assured investors of enhanced security architecture, regulatory clarity and policy stability, noting ongoing reforms that strengthen intelligence-led operations and inter-agency collaboration across the state.

He also highlighted several business-friendly reforms, including digitised permits, shortened approval timelines and the establishment of a One-Stop Investment Facilitation Desk to reduce bottlenecks.

The Governor further cited massive investments in irrigation systems, upgraded roads, broadband expansion, industrial parks and renewable mini-grids as part of the state’s broader strategy to attract sustained private-sector participation.

He reiterated that Katsina seeks genuine, long-term partnerships capable of creating jobs, expanding industries and strengthening supply chains across the state.

Governor Radda urged investors to engage with technical teams at the summit and align their proposals with Katsina’s long-term development plan, assuring them that their investments would leave lasting legacies and build a more prosperous future for the state.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to collaborating with development partners and the private sector to unlock Katsina’s full economic potential.
