The Ogun State Police Command has recovered an unregistered Mercedes-Benz GLK, an AK-47 rifle and two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition in its clampdown on criminal elements in Ota.

This was disclosed in a press statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi.

This latest breakthrough builds on a recent successful operation in the Ijaba, Iyesi area of Ota, where police operatives responded swiftly to a distress call regarding an armed robbery.

During that engagement, one suspected robber was neutralized, while two vehicles, suspected stolen goods, and a locally fabricated pistol loaded with ammunition were recovered.

Commending the operatives for their unwavering vigilance and operational professionalism, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to maintain a proactive stance against violent crime across the state.

The CP further called on residents of Ogun State to sustain their partnership with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities and sharing timely information to help safeguard lives and property.
