Police debunk curfew rumors, assure residents of safety

The Ogun State Police Command has dismissed reports alleging the imposition of a curfew or restriction of movement across the state, describing the claims as false and misleading.

The Command assured residents that the security situation in Ogun State remains calm and under control, with the adequate deployment of security personnel and operational assets to safeguard lives and property.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, through the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, urged residents to disregard unverified information capable of creating panic among members of the public.

The Command stated that there was no restriction of movement anywhere in the state and encouraged residents to continue their lawful activities without fear.

“The Ogun State Police Command wishes to categorically debunk rumors and misleading reports alleging the imposition of a curfew or restriction of movement in Ogun State,” the statement read.

It added that security agencies had strategically positioned personnel across the state to maintain law and order while responding swiftly to any security threat.

The police also appealed to residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities or movements to security agencies through the Command’s emergency lines, reiterating its commitment to ensuring public safety and sustaining peace across the state.
