Police arrest two suspected cult members over llorin shootings.

Kwara State Police Command has arrested two suspects over the shooting incident that occurred last Sunday, at the Post Office area of Ilorin, resulting in the death of four persons and gunshot injuries
The police said that a group of armed hoodlums, numbering about five, stormed a shanty bamboo bar along the railway and opened fire on individuals gathered at the location before fleeing the scenes.
This was made known by the State Police spokesperson. SP Adetoun Ejire Adeyemi said the operatives promptly responded to the distress call and rushed the victims to the Police Clinic.
Adeyemi noted that four of the victims were confirmed dead by medical personnel, while two others are currently receiving treatment.
She added that preliminary investigation indicates that the incident is cult-related; issues as comprehensive investigations led to the arrest of two suspected members of a notorious and deadly cult group linked to the attack.
The suspects she added are currently in custody and are providing useful informations to assist ongoing investigations and facilitate the identification and apprehension of other members of the criminal gang.
The State Police had also dispatched tactical, intelligence, and covert assets mobilised to track down every individual connected to the crime, with a firm commitment that all suspects would be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
The State Commissioner of Police,, CP Ojo Adekimi, strongly condemns the senseless act of violence and criminality. described the incident as a grave threat to public peace and safety and vowed to apprehend those responsible and prosecute them in accordance with the law.
The Command enjoined members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with the Police by providing credible informations that may assist ongoing investigations.
It further reassured residents that every necessary measure is being taken to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
