Police arrest two brothers for robbery in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two brothers, Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, over their alleged involvement in a robbery operation in Ore, headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area.

The suspects were apprehended on Saturday, October 11, 2025, after operatives from the Divisional Police Office, Ore, stormed a mechanic workshop following a credible intelligence tip off.

According to a statement on Sunday by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, a locally fabricated pistol and one live cartridge were recovered during the operation.

“Acting on a reliable tip off at about 5:15 p.m., the Divisional Police Officer, Ore, led his team to raid a mechanic workshop located off Okitipupa Road, Ore,” Ayanlade said.

“During the operation, two suspects Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, both residents of Ore were arrested. A search of the premises led to the recovery of a locally made pistol and a live cartridge.”

The police said preliminary investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the firearm and uncover possible links with other criminal groups operating in the area.

The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, commended the officers for their swift and professional response. He also appreciated members of the public for their timely information, urging them to continue cooperating with security agencies to enhance safety across the state.
