The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspects for assaulting a salesgirl in Lagos.
This was confirmed in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Monday.
He said, “Three suspects have been arrested for beating and brutalising a salesgirl in Lagos. The Lagos State Police Command has been actively addressing the matter, and justice will be served.”
The incident, which was captured in a video that went viral on social media on Sunday, showed four men whipping the woman while she writhed on the ground inside a boutique opposite Tantalizers on Lagos Island.
The video’s caption claimed that the salesgirl was accused of stealing from her employer, the boutique owner, who allegedly instructed unidentified men to flog her as punishment.
