Police apprehend armed robbery syndicate in Ibadan hotel

The Oyo State Police Command has announced the successful arrest of six suspected armed robbers during a coordinated raid at a hotel in the 7UP/Academy area of Ibadan.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed that the suspects were apprehended following precise intelligence provided by members of the public.
The police identified the arrested individuals as Kelvin Daniel, Idris Ramon, Christopher Solomon, Mohamed Telim, Taored Aderibigbe, and Adekunle Tolani.
The tactical operation led to the recovery of several incriminating items, including eighteen mobile phones, an Opay ATM card, and a National Identification Number (NIN) card.
The security operatives also seized a tricycle with registration number OYO SHK 508 QP, which investigators have identified as the primary operational vehicle used by the syndicate for their criminal activities.
Ayanlade further emphasized that the sting operation was the result of swift action taken by officers once the suspects' location was confirmed.
He reassured the residents of Oyo State that the Command remains committed to maintaining public safety and noted that all six individuals will be charged to court as soon as the ongoing investigations are finalized.
The Command further urged citizens to remain vigilant and continue providing timely information to law enforcement to help curb criminal activities within the state capital and its environs.
