The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially debunked reports suggesting that the party is conducting congresses across the federation, urging its members and the general public to disregard such claims as fraudulent.

National Chairman Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, issued a statement on Monday to address the growing confusion within the party’s ranks, warning that the misinformation is a deliberate attempt to mislead supporters and destabilize the party’s internal structure.

According to Turaki, the false information is being orchestrated by expelled members who have aligned themselves with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to undermine the PDP’s democratic standing.

The Chairman characterized the rumored congresses as a strategic move from a playbook designed by individuals who have traded the party’s interests for political appointments and favors from the ruling administration.

He emphasized that the PDP would not be used as a bargaining chip for those seeking to negotiate with the APC, citing similar betrayals during the recent FCT Area Council Elections.

Instead of holding congresses, the party leadership confirmed that its current focus is the ongoing digital membership registration exercise, which is reportedly progressing according to plan.

Turaki maintained that the PDP remains committed to the principles of multi-party democracy and urged loyalists to stay focused on the official digital transition.

The party has promised to provide further updates as political developments continue to unfold.
