…says opposition party has sunk into moral decay, political desperation
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State has condemned the All Progressives Congress (APC) over a video circulating on social media which it described as a deliberate attempt to malign the image of Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
In a statement signed by Hon. Jonathan Amande, Publicity Secretary of the PDP, the ruling party accused the APC of engaging in “dirty, desperate politics” by sponsoring and spreading false content aimed at damaging the governor’s personal reputation.
Amande said the video, which fixated on the governor’s private affairs, “shows the moral bankruptcy, ethical collapse, and political frustration” within the opposition party.
“It is shameful that a political party that once governed this state has degenerated to trading in lies and personal attacks just to stay relevant,” he stated.
He added that the action “smirks of a calculated attempt by APC stakeholders to distract and diminish the glowing image of the people’s governor.”
The PDP maintained that Governor Mutfwang remains focused on his leadership goals and unshaken in his mission to rebuild Plateau State through projects in digital infrastructure, agricultural reforms, and youth empowerment.
“The people of Plateau deserve progress, not propaganda; peace, not pollution of the mind,” the statement reads partly.
Amande further called on citizens to ignore what he termed the “falsehoods being peddled by a desperate opposition,” urging the APC to return to the path of constructive engagement.
“No amount of character assassination can stop the light of progress shining on Plateau under Governor Mutfwang’s leadership,” he added.
