Key leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State have officially presented Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli to President Bola Tinubu as the party’s choice for the upcoming governorship election.
The delegation was headed by Chief Moses Adeyemo, a former deputy governor and current state APC Chairman.
He was accompanied by several influential party stakeholders, including former Deputy Governor Chief Iyiola Oladokun and the former senator representing Oyo Central, Ayoade Adeseun. Other prominent figures on the visit included the APC National Deputy Auditor, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, alongside Mr. Gbenga Olayemi and Mr. Soji Adedeji.
During the meeting, the state party leadership also introduced its senatorial lineup for the 2027 electoral cycle to President Tinubu, showcasing a united front and deep readiness for the upcoming polls.
The presented senatorial aspirants included Engineer Remi Oseni for Oyo South, Senator Yunus Akintunde for Oyo Central, and Chief Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan for Oyo North Senatorial District.
Party executives explained that the primary purpose of the gathering was to introduce the state’s political flag-bearers directly to the president while reinforcing internal solidarity within the Oyo State APC network.
Members of the delegation voiced strong conviction regarding Alli’s ability to lead, noting that his candidacy enjoys broad acceptance across different factions and possesses the strength required to steer the APC to victory in the state.
They also pointed out that the collective endorsement underscores a fresh wave of harmony among vital party organs, indicating that leadership is successfully addressing historical fractures to build a solid front.
This official introduction brings clarity to months of intense political rumors and debates regarding who would secure the party’s governorship ticket, allowing the APC to focus on widespread grassroots mobilization and strategy across Oyo State.
