The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr. Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, has expressed sympathy with the people of Osun State, particularly residents of Osogboland, following the destruction caused by a heavy rainstorm on Saturday.

He offered prayers for the safety of lives and protection of property affected by the incident.

The minister noted that rainstorms are natural occurrences beyond human control, though their impact can be severe.

Dr. Oyetola urged residents to remain vigilant and take proactive steps to ensure their safety during such weather conditions.

He emphasised the need for caution and preparedness to minimise risks.

He also encouraged community leaders and relevant agencies to intensify public awareness on safety measures, especially during periods of heavy rainfall, to reduce the likelihood of similar occurrences.

The minister called on residents to support one another during this period, stressing the importance of unity, compassion, and collective responsibility in overcoming challenges posed by natural disasters.

He reassured the people of Osun State of his continued concern and solidarity, noting that the well-being of citizens remains a priority.

He urged those affected not to lose hope, assuring that efforts will continue to support safety and recovery.

Dr. Oyetola also prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, protection, and mercy upon those affected and the people of Osun State.
