Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has recalled former Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, to the State Executive Council barely a week after dissolving his cabinet.
The recall was confirmed in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti. According to a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habaibat Adubiaro, Olatunbosun is to resume immediately as Commissioner for Information.
Governor Oyebanji had on August 11 dissolved the state executive council in a major shakeup, directing commissioners and special advisers to hand over to the most senior civil servants in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies. Six commissioners, including those overseeing finance, works, and human capital development, were retained at the time to ensure continuity in critical sectors.
The governor explained that the dissolution was part of efforts to inject fresh energy into governance and strengthen his administration’s “shared prosperity” agenda.
