OsunDecides: Oyebamiji urges vigilance from supporters as collation commences

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has urged his supporters to remain calm, vigilant and resolute as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) begins the collation of results.

Oyebamiji, in a statement on his Facebook page following the conclusion of voting across the state, expressed confidence in the collective efforts of his supporters, while commending the people of Osun State for turning out to exercise their civic responsibility.

He said, “We have come a very long way, and today, I am deeply encouraged that our collective efforts are yielding results.

“I sincerely thank the good people of Osun State for coming out in large numbers to exercise their civic responsibility and make their voices heard through the ballot.”

The APC candidate also commended the security agencies and INEC for their conduct during the election, saying they demonstrated commitment and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.

“I also commend the security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their commitment to their duties and for conducting themselves with professionalism and integrity,” he added.

As the collation of results gets underway, Oyebamiji called on his supporters to remain peaceful and vigilant, stressing the need to protect the integrity of votes cast by the electorate.

“As the collation of results begins, I urge all our supporters and the good people of Osun to remain calm, vigilant and resolute.

“Let us protect the sanctity of the votes cast by our people. Do not allow anyone, under any guise or through any means, to subvert the will of the people or undermine the mandate they have freely chosen to give us in today’s election,” he said.

Oyebamiji further urged his supporters not to be provoked, insisting that the outcome of the election must reflect the choice of the electorate.

“We have come too far to allow our collective efforts to be compromised. Let us remain peaceful, watchful and confident as we await the final outcome.

“May the will of the people prevail,” he said.
