The Osun State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has reiterated its support for Governor Ademola Adeleke, affirming their commitment to his second term in office.

In a joint statement released on Sunday, the ALGON leadership expressed unwavering loyalty to the governor and his administration.

The statement, signed by Hon. Sarafadeen Awotunde, State ALGON Chairman; Hon. Lukman Afolabi, State ALGON Secretary; and Hon. Dada Ajibola, State ALGON Publicity Secretary, commended Governor Adeleke for his efforts in improving the state despite facing opposition from the All Progressives Congress (APC). They expressed strong confidence that his continuation in office beyond 2026 is certain.

The ALGON leaders described any current challenges within local governments as temporary setbacks, reaffirming their belief in the resilience of the governor’s administration.

“Our loyalty to His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is unwavering. No amount of political vendetta can prevent our governor from serving a second term,” the statement read.

“All the chairmen in the 30 local governments, including the Area office in the state, are fully behind our esteemed governor, Senator Jackson Nurudeeen Ademola Adeleke.”

They assured that they would work relentlessly to ensure his re-election, stressing that his continued leadership beyond 2026 is guaranteed.

“We applaud the progress made in transforming Osun into a better state despite the opposition’s attempts at intimidation. The workers in the local governments are equally committed to supporting him, and we will not let any opposition deter our enthusiasm for his administration.”

The statement concluded by affirming that the issues currently affecting local governments are only temporary and will not endure. It also expressed gratitude to Osun workers and citizens for their steadfast support of the government, despite the political pressures from the opposition.

“We value the loyalty and dedication of the people of Osun, and we are confident that together, we will overcome these challenges,” the statement added.
