Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ife Federal Constituency on Tuesday staged a solidarity walk in support of the party governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State.

Thousands of supporters of the APC thronged Mayfair, Ile-Ife, for the “Walk to Win” campaign in support of the party’s governorship candidate marched through major parts of the ancient town, including Mayfair, Iremo, Ilare, Sabo and Ilesa Garage, before converging at Enuwa, where party leaders addressed the crowd and reaffirmed their support for the APC candidate.

Speaking during the rally, the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Kayode Adereti expressed confidence that the party will emerge victorious in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

He dismissed concerns over recent defections from the party, expressing optimism that those who left would eventually return.

Adereti stated that the APC remained united and strong across the state, urging residents of the state to come out en masse on August 15 and vote for the APC

According to him, the massive turnout at the rally was a clear indication that the people of Osun State had already made their choice in favour of the APC and its governorship candidate.

“We are here today for the Walk to Win campaign for the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji. I am 100% confident that the people of Osun have made their choice and only a choice have been made, and that choice is APC and that choice is Asiwaju Munirudeen and there is no going back.

“My message to the good people of Osun State is to come out in their numbers on August 15, 2026, and speak with one voice through their votes by choosing a renewal of progress, prosperity and greater development for Osun State.

“There are no major defections from the APC. Those who have left are not significant to the party’s strength. I can assure you that it is a family matter that will be resolved. Many of those who left will return because the APC remains the only party positioned to win this election.

“I can also assure you that this is not a rented crowd but an organic gathering of supporters showing genuine love for their candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji. He is a leader who will bring visible changes to the education sector, agricultural development, the economy, infrastructure and healthcare delivery,” he said.

However, a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Taofeek Ajilesoro said the massive turnout demonstrated the growing acceptance of Oyebamiji among the people of Osun State.

He expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious at the polls, urging residents to vote massively for the party.

Ajilesoro stated that the walk was organised to mobilise support for the APC candidate, adding that the people of Osun had already made up their minds to embrace what he described as a renewal of progress in the state.

According to him, “We are here today to do our work to win movement for the candidate of our party, Alhaji Munirudeen Oyebamiji and his deputy Kayode Adereti.

“We are preparing ourselves, we want to use all our strength in Ife Federal Constituency that we are on ground so as to prepare for August 15 election in which we shall win by the special grace of God.

“As we can see we only have the APC party in Nigeria, other parties are in a disarray, our President is doing well, and we believe we will win

“We should stay calm maintain our peace, take a survey in every household there are majority APC members, we will win this election with our strength,” he added.

Also speaking, APC chieftain Hon. Fatai Kolawole said the 10-kilometre walk demonstrated the party’s numerical strength and popularity in the constituency.

He noted that residents along the route welcomed the supporters warmly, a development he said reflected growing support for the APC governorship ticket.
