The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially refuted circulating rumours alleging that the party leadership has anointed specific candidates for the 2027 National and House of Assembly elections.

The State APC Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, issued a statement on Monday, urging party members to ignore the misinformation and remain focused on the party’s immediate electoral goals.

He characterized the reports as baseless, asserting that no such agenda has been discussed or endorsed by the party’s leadership.

“There is not an iota of truth in such propagation of falsehoods,” Lawal stated. “I appeal to the esteemed members and loyal supporters of our party to discountenance this misinformation and consign it to the dustbin of rumours.”

The Chairman emphasized that the party’s current priority is the success of its governorship ticket, led by Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) and his running mate, Aare (Engr) Benjamin Kayode Adereti.

Lawal warned that promoting divisive narratives regarding future elections is a disservice to the party’s collective mission to secure victory in the upcoming governorship race.

He further noted that the governorship election serves as the essential bedrock for all future political activities in the state. According to Lawal, any attempt to foster acrimony or internal crisis at this stage is a deliberate effort by external actors to destabilize the party’s unity.

“It is a figment of the imagination of those who are propagating the falsehood, which is being touted deliberately to destabilize our party,” Lawal added. “The position of the party remains that all aspirants for the National and State Assemblies should, for now, dissipate their energy on the election of AMBO.”

The Chairman concluded by expressing confidence that a victory in the governorship poll would create a stable environment for future political processes, ultimately fostering more abundant opportunities for all strata of society in Osun State.

He called on all members to remain dedicated, disciplined, and unified in the lead-up to the election.
