The Lagos Local Government elections in Ojokoro LCDA recorded a peaceful and orderly turnout on Saturday, with key stakeholders applauding the process and the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for its coordination.
Hon. Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo (BAO), Member of the House of Representatives for Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency, alongside his wife, Chief Mrs Labake Olabinjo, cast their votes at Unit 121, Ward D, Ojokoro LCDA. BAO praised residents for coming out to perform their civic responsibilities and expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s chances of victory.
“I urge all citizens to troop out and vote for candidates of their choice. I am confident APC will win because of our proven track record of performance,” he stated.
The APC flagbearer in Ojokoro LCDA, Barr. Oluyemisi Adenike Rosiji (HID), also cast her vote at PU 048, Ijaiye/Akintonde Junction in Ward D. She lauded LASIEC for conducting a hitch-free exercise and called on party faithful and community members to sustain the momentum until the polls closed.
Also, Ojokoro LCDA Chairman, Hon. Hammed Tijani, described the election as peaceful and expressed optimism about the incoming administration’s ability to sustain and surpass the council’s developmental strides.
In his remarks, the traditional ruler of Orile-Alagbado, HRM Oba Adesogba Adeyoola Williams (TOMIA I), hailed LASIEC for a credible process and praised the outgoing leadership for its achievements.
The monarch urged the incoming council chairman to build on the foundations laid by their predecessor and pledged the community’s full support in achieving greater development.
The polls in Ojokoro LCDA were conducted in a calm atmosphere, with stakeholders commending LASIEC for professionalism and residents for their peaceful conduct.
