The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has officially declared his intention to contest the Agege Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.

Obasa made the announcement during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Tuesday in Agege, Lagos.

He stated that his decision to join the race was prompted by repeated calls from party leaders and key stakeholders within the constituency.

During the event, the Speaker also voiced his support for the immediate past Chairman of Agege Local Government, Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi, who is seeking to represent Agege Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Additionally, he canvassed for Azeez Oladapo Yusuf Ninolowo, an aspirant vying for the Agege Constituency II seat in the state assembly.

This declaration is expected to significantly influence political alignments within the APC in Agege as various aspirants intensify their consultations and mobilization efforts.
