NUC approves 10 new full-time undergraduate programmes at Redeemer’s University

Redeemer’s University in Ede has received official approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to introduce 10 new full-time undergraduate courses starting from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The approval followed a thorough resource verification assessment by an NUC expert panel, which evaluated the university’s human and material readiness to run the new offerings on its main campus.

Official confirmation came via a letter signed by Abubakar M. Girei, the NUC’s Director of Academic Planning, specifying that the clearance applies strictly to full-time study.

The newly cleared disciplines heavily bolster the institution’s offerings in media, computing, life sciences, and social sciences.

Students will soon have access to degrees in Broadcasting, Public Relations, Advertising, Information and Media Studies, Journalism and Media Studies, Film Production, Criminology and Security Studies, Biotechnology, Software Engineering, and Information Systems.

Commenting on the milestone, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shadrach Olufemi Akindele highlighted that the expansion aligns with modern industry needs, emerging global trends, and the demands of an increasingly digital knowledge economy, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for dynamic, technology-driven career paths.
