NPTF commission new Police command headquarters in Taraba
The Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) has commissioned the newly constructed Taraba State Police Command Headquarters.
Speaking at the event, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), represented by the Commissioner of Police for the Taraba State Command, CP Morkwap Sebastine Dongshal conveyed deep appreciation to the Federal Government and the NPTF for their unwavering commitment to strengthening the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force.
He noted that the projects align perfectly with the IGP’s people-centered policing vision, which places a strong emphasis on improved welfare, modern infrastructure, and a conducive working environment for officers and men of the Force.
“Improved infrastructure remains critical to enhancing operational efficiency, boosting response capacity, and ensuring effective policing across communities,” the IGP said.
A modern Divisional Police Headquarters was also inaugurated in the Yorro Local Government Area of the state.
In his remarks, the Executive Secretary of the NPTF, Mohammed Sheidu, reaffirmed the fund’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force through the provision of modern infrastructure and other critical resources necessary for effective policing.
He stated that the newly commissioned facilities underscore the Federal Government’s dedication to strengthening internal security and enhancing the capacity of the police to effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities.
Sheidu further assured stakeholders that the Trust Fund would continue to partner with the Nigeria Police Force to advance initiatives aimed at improving police welfare, operational efficiency, and service delivery nationwide.
Also speaking at the event, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas (Rtd) represented by CP Cyril Agbe (Rtd) commended the Federal Government and the NPTF for the laudable intervention.
He described the projects as critical investments in the security and development of Taraba State, noting that improved policing infrastructure would contribute significantly to peace, safety, and socio-economic growth in the region.
