CP, GOC strengthen security collaboration in Borno

The Borno Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Maiduguri, Brig.-Gen. Solomon Diwa, reaffirmed their commitment to enhanced inter-agency collaboration.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Daso on Tuesday in Maiduguri.

It said the renewed partnership was highlighted during a familiarisation visit by Brig.-Gen. Diwa, who is also the Commander, Sector 1, Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI, to the Borno Police Command Headquarters in Maiduguri.

The GOC described the visit as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen relationships among security agencies operating in the state.

Diwa stressed the importance of intelligence sharing, coordinated operations and sustained cooperation in addressing prevailing security challenges and consolidating gains recorded in the fight against insurgency and other crimes.

Responding, CP Abdulmajid welcomed the GOC and reiterated the Police Command’s commitment to maintaining a strong working relationship with the military and other security agencies.

He noted that effective collaboration among security stakeholders remained critical to safeguarding lives and property, promoting peace and supporting ongoing efforts to restore normalcy across communities in Borno.

The police commissioner added that the command would continue to work closely with the military to ensure a safer environment for residents.

The security chiefs resolve to deepen existing partnerships and sustain a unified approach toward improving security and stability across the state.
