…PDP chieftain predicts internal crisis in APC
…Says Shettima, Akpabio, others could be dropped like Ganduje

Veteran journalist and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Chief Dele Momodu, has issued a pointed caution to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, asserting that loyalty alone does not guarantee political longevity within President Bola Tinubu’s inner circle.

In a strongly worded post shared on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday, Momodu reflected on the recent resignation of Dr Abdullahi Ganduje as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a signal of deeper internal upheaval within the ruling party.

“I knew this day would soon come when katakata would burst within the ruling APC,” he wrote. “Many political analysts often fail to grasp Tinubu’s consistent pattern in managing political relationships.”

Momodu said Ganduje’s resignation exemplifies a recurring trend in Tinubu’s political trajectory, where long-time associates are swiftly sidelined once deemed no longer essential.

“On Abdullahi Ganduje, he’s a tragic hero who took bullets for Tinubu. But, like all lackeys, his usefulness has expired. My friend Akpabio should beware,” he warned.

Drawing on historical precedents, Momodu recalled instances from Tinubu’s tenure as Lagos State governor where deputy governors were replaced without hesitation and noted the case of former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, who was denied a second term.

“What is happening to Vice President Shettima today is not new. It happened to several Deputy Governors in Lagos. Governor Ambode was the biggest casualty, and Governor Sanwo-Olu only narrowly escaped recently,” he said.

The Ovation Magazine publisher further described the current political structure as one rigidly centred on Tinubu’s personal authority, leaving little room for dissent or perceived rivalry.

“This current power structure is absolutely for Tinubu. No one should deceive themselves. No one is indispensable, and everyone is expendable when it becomes necessary,” he wrote.

“The PRINCE does not entertain competition. This is the season of Machiavelli. More victims will fall on the battlefield. No one is sacred.”

Momodu’s remarks come at a time of growing speculation about internal frictions within the APC, with renewed focus on loyalty and control at the highest levels of government.
