NDPHC MD renovates classrooms, pledges solar power for Abia school

The Managing Director, Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Jennifer Adighije, has renovated a block of classrooms at Boys Secondary School, Umuoparazara, Abia, and pledged to provide solar electricity for the facility.
This is contained in a statement issued by Adighije, made available to newsmen in Abuja on Friday.
She said that the the renovated classroom block and other development projects in Olokoro Clan, Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia, was inaugurated to mark Nigeria’s on 66th Independence Anniversary.
She said the projects included the renovation of the classroom block and the landscaping and installation of modern 3D flooring at the Olokoro Clan Headquarters Complex in Ahiaukwu.
She said the interventions was a significant contributions to educational development and grassroots empowerment.
Adighije attributed the successful execution of the projects to God’s grace and the productive partnership between the community and government institutions.
She said quality education remained critical to community development and nation-building, stressing that investment in educational infrastructure was an investment in the future of young people.
Adighije pledged to continue collaborating with the OCDU leadership to identify and execute additional projects that would improve the living conditions of residents.
The Federated President-General of Olokoro Clan Development Union (OCDU), Dr Odinakachi Umekwe, lauded Adighije for her commitment to the welfare and development of the community.
Umekwe said the renovation of the classroom block would improve the learning environment for students and contribute to educational advancement in the area.
He urged community members to safeguard and maintain the facilities to ensure their sustainability.
Umekwe also prayed for greater accomplishments in Adighije’s public service career, describing her contributions as a source of pride to the clan.
He also commended her contributions to youth empowerment, employment opportunities and other initiatives aimed at improving the socio-economic well-being of Olokoro people.
The event featured cultural performances by students of Boys Secondary School, Umuoparazara, and attracted traditional rulers, government representatives, community leaders, women groups, youth organisations and other stakeholders.
