Nigeria at 66-NEMSA retirates commitment to ensuring safety of electrical installations

The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) has reteriated its commitment to ensuring that all electrical installations deployed across the country are safe and in compliance with technical standards.
Mr Olusegun Adesayo, the Managing Director of NEMSA, said this in Abuja on Thursday in his Independence Message to Nigerians.
Adesayo who is also the Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation said that NEMSA remained steadfast in its mandate to strengthen electrical safety through testing and Inspection.
”As our nation continues to pursue economic growth and development, the power sector remains critical to achieving our national aspirations.
”At NEMSA, we remain steadfast in our mandate of ensuring that electrical installations, power systems and electrical equipment deployed across the country comply with prescribed technical standards and safety requirements,”he said.
‘Adesayo said that in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration of President Bola Tinubu and the ongoing reforms in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry, NEMSA will continue to strengthen electrical safety.
He said that NEMSA would also continue to ensure technical standards, inspection, testing and certification, while working collaboratively with stakeholders to promote a safer, more reliable and sustainable electricity sector.
Adesayo on behalf of the management and staff of NEMSA congratulated Tinubu, the government and people of Nigeria on the 66th Independence.
According to him, Independence Day offers an opportunity to celebrate Nigeria’s resilience as a people, reflect on our collective journey, and renew our commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable Nigeria.
”As we celebrate 66 years of nationhood, I urge all Nigerians, particularly operators, professionals, contractors and consumers within the electricity sector, to make safety and compliance a collective responsibility.
”Electrical safety is not merely a regulatory requirement; it is essential to protecting lives, property and critical national infrastructure.
”Let us continue to believe in the promise of our great nation and contribute, through our respective responsibilities to the Nigeria we desire.
”May this Independence anniversary renew our hope, strengthen our unity and inspire us to greater service to our fatherland,” he said.
