NDPC inks MOU with Governors’ Forum

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has inked a strategic partnership with the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This was disclosed on Thursday by the National Commissioner/CEO of NDPC, Dr Vincent Olatunji via his social media pages.

The NDPC noted that the MoU signing marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s collective efforts to deepen data protection and privacy.

He went on further to commend the Director-General of the NGF, Dr Abdulateef Shittu, for his commitment and readiness to collaborate with the Commission in advancing a stronger culture of data privacy and responsible data governance at the state level.

“As Nigeria continues to build a thriving digital economy, compliance with data protection standards is no longer optional. Strengthening privacy frameworks across states will not only accelerate the nationwide adoption of best practices but also enhance trust, improve digital resilience, and boost foreign direct investment opportunities across the federation.”
