The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced the registration of 570 unemployed youths in Jigawa State under the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, aimed at reducing joblessness and empowering Nigerians through practical skill acquisition.
State Coordinator of the NDE, Mr Hamza Garba, disclosed this in Dutse, explaining that the programme aligns with the Federal Government’s broader strategy to tackle mass unemployment through inclusive empowerment schemes.
According to Garba, the registration exercise—scheduled to run from July 28 to August 11—is open to all unemployed individuals, irrespective of their educational background. Participants are expected to register online via the NDE’s official portals.
“This second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, championed by President Bola Tinubu’s administration, targets unskilled and unemployed persons who are willing to learn and grow,” he said.
Garba noted that selected participants will receive training in key areas such as agriculture, entrepreneurship, renewable energy, digital technology, and various vocational trades. The goal, he said, is to equip them with market-relevant skills that will enable them to launch their own businesses and become economically self-reliant.
He encouraged interested youths across the state to seize the opportunity and register for the skill areas that match their interests and ambitions.
