The Federal Government has launched Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja, reinforcing its commitment to staff welfare and environmental sustainability.
Finance Minister Wale Edun, who presided over the inauguration, also announced the return of monthly welfare provisions for ministry staff—moves aimed at boosting morale and operational effectiveness.
Edun highlighted that the initiative, part of the Presidential CNG programme, supports Nigeria’s transition to cleaner, cost-effective energy and aligns with principles of fiscal prudence and transparency.
Permanent Secretary Lydia Jafiya urged staff to remain disciplined and committed amid ongoing economic reforms, while the CNG programme chairman, Ismaeel Ahmed, emphasized its role in greening government transport and stimulating local industry.
