The Management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has constituted a Project Verification and Payment Committee to audit all infrastructure and development projects in the region.
The decision follows a resolution reached at the 9th meeting of the Commission’s 7th Governing Board on December 8, 2025.
The move aligns with the Federal Government’s directive for all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to digitize their operations and go paperless by December 31, 2025.
The Committee is tasked with verifying all completed projects including infrastructure, electrification, desilting, environmental, and water supply works from inception to January 2023.
The goal is to capture these projects in the Commission’s Directorate of Finance and Accounts’ digitized platform to facilitate electronic payments.
The Committee is chaired by the Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Alabo Boma Iyaye.
Other members include Sir Victor Antai (Executive Director, Projects), Mr. Victor Arenyeka (Director, Legal Services), Engr. Gbenga Omowanle (Director, Project Monitoring), Mrs. Kunemofa Asu (Director, Finance and Accounts) and Mr. Lucky Ogbuji (Director, Internal Audit).
