NCDMB launches 10th annual national undergraduate essay competition

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has announced the opening of entries for the 10th edition of its Annual National Undergraduate Essay Competition, set to begin on August 15.
The initiative offers 100 and 200-level students from Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education an opportunity to share their perspectives on advancing local content development within the nation’s energy sector.
This year’s edition centers on the topic, “Promoting Manufacturing for Sustainable Local Content Development.”
Participants are tasked with analyzing strategies to expand Nigeria’s domestic manufacturing capacity, accelerate economic growth, and curb reliance on imported energy goods.
Organized in partnership with Project Consultant Eyinimi Omorozi, the competition aims to foster critical thinking, enhance research capabilities, and inspire young scholars to develop practical solutions for national industrialization.
Eligible students can submit their entries through the official portal at www.ncdmbessay.ng during the application window.
The program will conclude with an awards ceremony on October 22 at the NCDMB headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, where the top participants will be honored for their academic contributions.
