NCDMB ES congratulates Minister Ekperikpe Ekpo on election as GECF President
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, has congratulated Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas) and Co-Chairman of the NCDMB Governing Council, Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, on his election as President of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
Engr. Ogbe described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of the Minister’s visionary leadership, industry expertise, and consistent efforts to position Nigeria as a global gas powerhouse.
He highlighted Ekpo’s role in advancing midstream gas development, expanding domestic gas utilisation, and driving the Decade of Gas Initiative.
“The Minister’s tireless advocacy for gas as Nigeria’s transition fuel and his unwavering support for policies that enhance investor confidence and deepen value addition clearly distinguished him as a natural choice for this global role,” Ogbe stated.
Also, Engr. Ogbe congratulated Dr. Philip Mshelbila, Managing Director of Nigeria LNG Limited, on his election as Secretary General of GECF, describing it as a milestone that underscores Nigeria’s growing influence on the global gas stage. He praised both officials’ leadership and strategic diplomacy in achieving the dual success.
“This dual victory is a proud moment for Nigerians and all stakeholders in the gas value chain,” Ogbe said.
The Executive Secretary reaffirmed NCDMB’s commitment to supporting the Minister’s vision, advancing Nigerian Content development, and aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR’s agenda to strengthen the gas sector and drive sustainable economic growth.
“We acknowledge the Minister’s exceptional support for Nigerian Content and remain committed to partnership under his guidance to achieve remarkable outcomes in the global gas industry,” Ogbe added.
Engr. Ogbe wished Minister Ekpo success in his new international role and pledged NCDMB’s support throughout his tenure as GECF President.
