Special Assistant on Photography to the Ondo State Governor, Abayomi Adefolalu, has described his recognition as Media Aide of the Year as a call to higher responsibility, renewed discipline and deeper service to the state.

Adefolalu, who received the honour from the Governor’s media team, said the award goes beyond personal recognition, stressing that it underscores the value of dedication, consistency and professionalism in public service.

This was contained in a statement signed by Abayomi Adefolalu, where he expressed gratitude to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for what he described as people-centred and inspiring leadership.

“The honour is more than an award; it is a powerful reminder that dedication, sincerity and quiet consistency never go unnoticed,” the statement reads.

He commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for creating an environment that rewards hard work and encourages excellence within the media team, describing the governor as “not just a leader, but a father” to members of the press crew.

According to him, the governor’s leadership style has continued to motivate media aides to professionally project the administration’s vision to the people of Ondo State and beyond.

Adefolalu also appreciated the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, for organising the award and recognising his contribution, noting that the gesture has strengthened his resolve to serve better.

“I accept this honour as a strong call to higher commitment, greater discipline and renewed dedication to duty,” he said.

He further acknowledged the support of the Official Photographer to the Governor, Motunrayo Oyedele, as well as the Director of Media, Mrs Olamiposi Odofin, and members of the Governor’s Press Crew, whom he credited for their teamwork and encouragement.

The award, he noted, reflects the long hours behind the lens, silent sacrifices and unwavering commitment required to professionally document governance and public service.

Adefolalu assured that the recognition would not make him complacent, but rather inspire him to raise standards and remain steadfast in excellence, professionalism and service.

“I am determined to work harder and serve better,” the statement added, as he prayed for renewed strength, wisdom and creativity to continue telling the state’s story with truth and impact.
