Following the brutal murder of an APC ward councillor Hon. Adeyinka Adeleke Adeyemi at Oke Ilewo area of Abeokuta by some suspected assailants few months ago, his elder brother, Adeyinka Adetunji Adesola has cried out over an attempt to kill him also.

It could be recalled that some suspected gunmen, Saturday afternoon, killed a councilorship candidate, Adeyinka Adeleke, in the Jide Jones area of Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The victim was said to be the All Progressives Congress Councillorship candidate for Abeokuta South Local Government Ward 15 in the forthcoming November 16 Local Government elections.It was gathered that the assailants stormed the area in a tinted car while shooting sporadically.

Our correspondent learnt from a source privy to the incident that the gunmen attacked Adeleke, shot at him and left him in the pool of his blood.

A video of the incident which surfaced online showed the lifeless body of Adeleke while sympathisers’ voices were heard in the background wailing.

An anonymous source told our correspondent that the incident created palpable tension in the area as residents scampered for safety.

The source said, “Some gunmen killed the All Progressives Congress councilorship candidate for Ibara Ward 15, Adeyinka Adeleke, today.”

The cause of the gruesome murder of the vibrant politician kept facets of law enforcement agencies who swung into action to unravel the elements behind the dastardly incidence.

The elder brother of the victim, Adeyinka Adetunji Adesola (42), of No. 3, Adeyinka Drive, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State, who is assisting various security agencies with their investigations and has pledged to identify the assailants, is now in a state of constant fear for his life. Despite the massive destruction of properties worth several million naira belonging to him and his deceased brother, he is trying to avoid being killed, as he continues to receive daily threats from the masked assailants.

In an interview conducted from his hideout, Adeyinka Adetunji Adesola could not disclose his hideout to us for security and obvious reasons.
